Summer Spins

Remember when you were a kid and would spin around and around until you thought you would throw up and then fall flat on the ground looking up at the sky and watch the world spin around and around and around? Well my camera took a spin instead. It easier on the tummy that way. I am doing a “Picture Summer” set of assignments. I get a new assignment everyday, and well, I have to admit, I am not the best student. I have been playing alot of hooky. But I did it today and it was fun!

Tangier Island

What an interesting place! Tangier Island is located in the middle of the Chesapeake Bay is approximately 1 mile long and 3 miles wide. Residents rely on crabbing to make their living. As you approach the island you see all of these houses or crab shanties lining the waterway. They have their own school and are proud of their 5 graduates in 2010. Hearing their Elizabethan dialect is worth a trip on its own, a little bit country, a little bit Shakespeare. “I’ll call ye” we heard one resident yell to her friend. If you are nearby it’s worth a visit.

Class of ’11 | Baltimore Senior Photographer

She was traveling down the east coast visiting colleges, U Penn, University of Maryland (Go Terps!!), UVA and many others. Neither of us had planned for it, but I had my camera, the sun was shining and she is just gorgeous. We rooted through her suitcase and voila!

A Summer Evening in Arnold Maryland | Maryland Childrens Photographer

Baby brother is all smiles, all the time! It helps to have a funny big brother to make him laugh.

His mom and I got sneaky and charmed a smile out of big brother by mentioning a cute girl’s name from his class. And, voila, a ladies man emerges from behind the light sabers!
